The Perfect 10 Bagel
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. I have conquered the unthinkable. A new bagel has been discovered. A Western Bagel brand, called the Perfect 10 Bagel. I can assure you it hold true to it's name! This bagel has a mere 140 calories. With that said pay attention closely to the rest of the nutritional facts. This low in calorie carbohydrate also carries only 2 grams of fat. I know, you love it right!? Well, it gets better. Now I'm not one to obsess about the carbs in a bready item, however, I was surprised to see that only 19 carbs are packed in this bagel. Of those 19 carbs, you will find 9 grams of dietary fiber, and only 1 gram of sugar. I get it, your sold! You want to know where to find such a spectacular item. Hold tight, I have yet to divulge the greatest bit of this Perfect 10 bagel. Now if you are ready, here it is....this low in calories and fat, high in fiber bagel, also carries with it 18 grams of protein. So there you have it! Toast up this bagel and top with a cream cheese spread, jam, chicken salad, or your favorite deli meat and you'll stay full for hours!
Weekend Update!
Check out the weekend in pictures, too!

We had such a great and busy week! Starting with Friday, we headed to the LA ZOO and got our passes for the year! We met up with a bunch of friends from our ward playgroup and played at the Zoo park and saw only a few of the animals, but the girls were so excited to just be with friends! Later that night (after spending nearly 2 hours in traffic to travel 24 miles) I watched a movie with a friend and my sister while the girls had a "sleep-over" together in Reese's bed. We even made the bunk bed into a fort, with a blanket draped over the side. They watched movies in there and slept side-by-side. It sure is sweet to see they play so nicely together.
Saturday was going to be a relaxing day. But spur of the moment I decided to get the girls out to see the Disney Train Tour, featuring the artwork from the upcoming Disney movie A Christmas Carol. We took the Metrolink down to Union Station and got ready for a long day, with NO stroller. I was warned too late that it would be a 3 hour wait. Fortunately for us we made some "friends" and they let us jump into line with them an by-pass about an hour of waiting! The girls did a GREAT job. We all got tired and sick of waiting but they really didn't whine like they could have. And they made it a nice experience. So on the train, NO it does NOT move, we saw some of the art-work, costumes and technologies involved in the making of the movie. It will be in 3D and similar to "The Polar Express." In the end car we were able to morph our faces into the character's faces. It was silly. Luckily we finished up and made it to the 6:05 train home, the next train home would be leaving at 9:30 or something ridiculous! At home the girls had another "sleep-over" while I had a game night with some friends.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Wow, it was such an awesome day. To start I did the girls' hair and they looked darling. Then, they behaved quite well during church meetings! I taught the lesson in Young Women's and I have to say it went really well! It was on "Temple Marriage: Requirement for Eternal Family Life." And I was having a great day, and especially loving my husband and kids, looking forward to seeing my husband in 2 weeks, and celebrating our 8 year anniversary next month. I had picture from our wedding, decoration from home, and family stuff for the display. I offered the girls chocolate chips at the beginning and tried to tempt them to have some throughout the lesson. At the end those that did NOT eat the chocolate chips got a HUGE chocolate chip cookie and a little saying: "Why settle for just a chip when you can have to whole cookie. Make the decisions today that will take you to the temple tomorrow." I found it from a church based website. They also got mock temple recommends. It was really fun for me. I enjoy the chance too teach. I only get to every once and a while.
Sunday continued to be awesome. After naps we visited our friends the Wiggins, Jana was up visiting. Then had dinner with my brother and his wife, Chase and Jamie. Jamie and I are due within 5 weeks of each other, and Jana confirmed that she is also pregnant and due in December! Yeah for babies! Since Monday was a holiday the girls had another "sleep-over" in the same bed. They can just be so sweet to each other then so rotten!
Monday I told the girls would be a relaxing day and we'd just watch TV and rest all day long. Around 2pm they began to get a little restless so we decided to head out for ice cream. I thought I could go and check out some fabrics at the craft stores, too. Well, we ended up doing neither. Instead met up with my brother Chase and Jamie, and some other friends the Beldsoes and went 4-wheeling nearby. We had a bar-B-que, smores, carne asada, sodas, chips. And the girls got all sorts of dirty. What a BLAST we had.
SO the weekend was just the best! It couldn't have been any better. I take that back, all along the way of our adventures the girls remembered their daddy and would say "Dad would have so much fun on the train/4-wheelers with us!" It makes me so happy that the girls think about their dad so lovingly and know that he too would enjoy doing everything we do!
I love you Honey and can't wait to see in in less than 2 weeks!

Writing
Rebecca, you got my brain thinking.....thanks!
I was at my monthly recipe exchange night, and had a great time by the way, and learned that my friend Rebecca is nearing completion of her novel. (Is that right?) Anyhow, it reminded me of a thought I had long ago to write a story about my dad's childhood. He is one of eight kids and I love hearing funny, sad, weird, sometimes fictional stories from his memories. But with eight kids, sometimes those stories are all told differently, sometimes the same.
So, I ask you blog followers and readers; what would you ask your parents about their childhood, what would you want to know, if it was up to you to tell the story of your parents' life what would be most valued.

Did you know....
the various kinds of bedding sets available for a tiny baby that doesn't even see colors? Did you ever think about how fun it would be to set up the crib, paint a wall or two and get ready for a baby to arrive?! And did you actually go out and buy a bedding set and use it for one child and maybe the second? And did you ever see something this cute!?
OR maybe something like this:
Cute right! Did you ever think that either of these would be priced at OVER $1000?
That's 3 zeros. One Thousand dollars. Ridiculous right?
So it got me thinking; why on earth would someone pay so much for an infant/baby/toddler to sleep in something that they 1) can't even enjoy the color scheme, b) care what they are sleeping in, and lastly likely destroy the 5000 thread count sheets with their bodily fluids.
Then my brain naturally thought, well why should I even bother looking at a bedroom set for this new little girl. The one I used for Blake was a gender neutral theme and I loved it. Sadly it got water damage and grew some black mold so that Reese missed out on any "cute" bedding. Anyhow, there is a cute bedding set that I saw. But again, why spend $180 on a bedding set.
Yes I know it's cute. But really I'm thinking it's ridiculous. So I've been thinking I'd like to make the bedding and learn something new while picking the colors that I would love to see in our baby's bed. Here's a swatch of the idea I have:
OR this
Very similar bet you get the colors I'm thinking about!
But then while I was looking for those swatches I found these!
OR!!!!
And with coupons and spending some time learning a new sewing skill, well that's the best price out there!
So give me your input on color. The light blue ones, the bright blue and reds, or the yellow-y floral one.

A Song!
Sometimes in the afternoon I can get the girls to nap or stay super quiet. Then I try to steal an hour nap, if I'm lucky. Today was a busy day and that nap sure would have been nice! So I hopped in my bed hoping for that nap to come. But I wouldn't. Not with a song looping through my thoughts.
"Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold. A circle is round it had no end, that's how long I want to be your friend." And that my friends it one of the songs the girls sing while at Daisy Scouts. My Blake is a Daisy and today was their inauguration...that's what i've been calling it, just a cute little pinning ceremony. It was fun seeing her with her friends, Grace and Ashlyn are her absolute favorite people to be around.
So here's my girl. Getting her pin. Her troop, she has her head on Grace's shoulder in the back row to the left. And my Reese, chocolate faced- upside down shades-TV tranced face!

Baby News!!!
Well if you did know already....I'm pregnant! I don't really look it. And on a good day I think I look down right great! So today I'm just over 18 weeks, and had my ultra sound appointment this morning! The technician thought it was my first because of my excitement level! So she quickly went looking for the "parts" and well this baby was folded completely in half. Feet were up by the ears! How they manage to get in such positions amazes me! Anyway. We couldn't get a good view so the tech suggested I use the restroom and see if that gives more room for movement. And sure enough after emptying my bladder and some jumping jacks, the twist, and crocodile rock....that baby pulled down those long legs and politely gave us a view.
So, you're waiting.
Anticipating the news.
Am I right?
You are thinking...."Why doesn't she just spit it out already!?"
Well, I am excited to share with you all that we will be having a
Are you sure you want to know?
Well, it's another little girlie!
And after my appointment I was shocked. I had convinced myself I was having a boy. So it took me a minute to get excited about it. Well after a quick trip to Old Navy and buying a couple of little girlie outfits. I am thrilled! I think Dan and I did a pretty awesome job making the two girls we have already, so I'm excited to meet this new little babe!
Now, I need to come up with a name. Please no suggestions on this post about names. Just help get me excited about out baby girl! I'll have a post later with my name preferences and specifications. At which point I would love your suggestions!

Emotional Day of a Pregnant Woman
Today started great. My girls were staying with my sister and I slept in until 8:30am. Wow, funny how that is sleeping in. I began the day by doing some laundry, tidying up, and a little sewing. This is where it went down hill. After completing the said sewing project, a maternity skirt, I tried it on. I need to preface here that when I saw the fabric I fell in love and envisioned and outfit immediately. The skirt was completed and I pulled it up only to have it stop at my thighs. It didn't fit. Ugh. I hope I have enough fabric to make one that fits my body that is much larger than I had thought it was.
My land-lord calls reminding me that it's May. Great. He comes to take my money away from me, mind you I haven't any money to begin with. I hate having to deal with finances, bills, and the lack thereof.
Okay, breathe. I'm off to pick up my girls from my sister at around 11am and they are having a blast. They don't want to leave and I'm okay with hanging out having some lunch. I love that my sister has a back-yard to play in. She's living with her boy-friend and he just bought a house. He's so nice and patient to let me and the girls come around so much so I can have company and the girls have a place to play, with that stinking cute dog!
Okay, I can do this right!? Then we have to leave the freedom of the backyard and that is inevitably accompanied with whining and opting to NOT listen to mother's (me) requests to get in the car. Please don't fall asleep girls we're so close to home. That 11 seconds she slept meant no real nap. Guess who suffers? We all do!
At home again. One reading a stack of books the other sneaking out from her napping place. I throw my hands up. They'll go to bed early, that'll be nice. I try finding a sitter so I can go for a girl's night out, a friend is in from out of town! Sushi and a movie. Should be fun. If I could only get a sitter. Sister has plans, brother has plans, and 5 young women and 1 young man from church later. I give up.
Work on tomorrow's lesson. I hear the girls playing together. Blake says to Reese, "I'll read to you!" Reese runs down the hall to get mom's scriptures. How sweet! It gets too quiet. I hear a pencil aggressively drawing, in what? A scripture book, big blue ones with scripture stories and pictures. With a slightly crazy tone I warn the girls to get in to their room before I can reach them. I am so tired of their constant destroying my things. It was my make-up only 20 minutes before. I follow them to their room and scold them on their destructive behavior. I ask how they would like to have their things destroyed? Blake had a hole in her shirt so I stuck my finger right in that hole and ripped the shirt in half. "How do you like having your things destroyed?" On my command of clean your room and show me you are done destroying things RIGHT NOW!!! After much crying and confusion as to why mom would rip a shirt in half....while wearing it, the girls settle down. And guess what they do? Clean their room.
Two hours of crying, going slightly crazy, feeling stressed and overwhelmed. My girlfriends call me and tell me it's time to get out. Call this one last person and get out! I shower myself and my kids, get them in their jammies and couldn't be more thankful to have such a dear friend watch the girls. Thanks a million Tracey, Young Women Pres, comes on over, scoops my girls right up, they go off to McD's and the park, play at her house with 10 year old Polly Pockets, AND she gets them to bed! Meanwhile, I get to enjoy my first sushi experience and think it's tasty and fun! Movie followed and of course the chance to be out with such fun women! Jamie K, Genine B, Marci D, Naomi B, and Rachel ?. Thanks girls for taking my mind off such an emotionally wracking day and having me out! I really appreciate it. It's nice knowing I'm not alone on such crazy days!
